"I recommend that students write about why they want medicine. Do not cram in all of your research, volunteer, experiences, etc . They need to save something for the interview. " says John White, Director of Admissions for who else but Johns Hopkins Medical School.

Hm can you tell I want to go to Hopkins??

LMFAO

Future snows at Johns Hopkins

I have a strong interest in public health and how that intersects with medicine and a lot of my application reflected that. I think that is maybe received well at Hopkins.

I can't decide what medical speciality to focus on in regards to my essay. Yes I know I can change my mind later, but having a focal point to shoot ammuniation towards helps a lot!

Oh and during my shower this morning I got a brillant sentence in my thoughts:
The human body is not the sum of it's parts.

I hope that's not a sentence that everyone has in their damn essay.

I've just been looking at the future lately and attempting to guess where I should/could land.

Again and Again

Despite what Tyler Durden says, in at least one respect, you must be a beautiful and unique snowflake. And so just a point of advice :Nice guys don't finish last, boring ones do.
I have no idea who the guy in the picture is, but he's pretty so I'm putting him up to make my blog look nicer

I just need some time to myself. To breathe.

Work sucks, we aren't getting many shifts and the shifts that we go get pretty much aren't worth my time. Weekend nights are great though. Parties are the very best.

Sometimes my thoughts are extremely serious and strange. Macabe almost. I just need some time to myself. I want to bring my old self back alive. The one that was in control of my life. The one that was intelligent and knew the answer and wasn't afraid or rather paralized by the fear of FAILURE.

I look at people and I wonder how they can be some inhumane to other people. I mean really. What we do to others is a direct reflection of ourselves and how we treat ourselves.

My friend M Setje was telling me a story about that. He was actually making a metaphor regarding life and the Golden Rule. Something about an earthworm chewing it's own tail. Yeah I suck I listened I just can't remember it exactly. M Setje has now corrected me.

And the earthworm askes the other worm to marry it, and the other worm says "You fool, I'm just the other end."

Que Sara... but it was inline with his rendition of Stranger from a Strange World.

I keep having thoughts of sex enter my mind while I'm at work. It kinda disturbing. I wonder if mens' mind are like that. Just constantly having thoughts of sex wander in and out. Weird, it's not easy to live like that. Sometimes I just work myself up so much. I really just tease myself so bad.

Down with the Sickness

Ok I've been sick with toncilitis + strep + fever since Sunday 3am which = misery.

Perhaps I could drink wine:

"Drink wine, it's what remains of the harvest of youth - the season of roses and wine and drunken friends. Be happy for this moment, this moment is your life."-The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam

Hm, yeah you are right. That would be bad. Ugh! It'd probably take the pain away though. That's always my argument for more drinking.

Best dessert wine ever!!!!-2002 Cabernet Franc, Inniskillin IceWine.
That stuff is amazing. 100 a bottle so it should be ;)

I'm really starting to enjoy Pinot Noir as a grape variety. It's usually softer and less tannic than Merlot. I had no idea it was such a fussy grape to grow until I watched Sideways the other day with Goldmill. Strange movie, my favorite part was the wallet scene and him running 5 clicks and through an ostrich farm to boot!

I have a few more notes on other wines. You can tell that I'm getting better at tasting when I start adding in notes about alcohol content, acidity, and body.

Who knows, I may even start to like red wine.
